Shadow masks are required both for device characterisation and materials processing. Our standard mask patterns come in three variants: 6 x 0.25 cm^2, 2 x 1 cm^2 + 4 x 0.1 cm^2, 3 x 0.25 cm^2 + 1 x 1 cm^2.
Device characterisation - illumination masks
Illumination masks define the active area in solar cell characterisation. Our standard illumination masks are made from black anodised aluminium and are compatible with our standard patterned TCO glass substrates. Alternatively, we can custom make illumination masks for your device layout.
Materials processing - evaporation masks
Evaporation masks define the material pattern on a substrate. We can make evaporation masks, typically from stainless steel, suitable for use with common solar cell (or other semiconductor device) materials including organic semiconductors, perovskite and perovskite precursors, and metals. They are typically custom made to suit your evaporator, maximising throughput. Our evaporation masks can be designed for both our standard patterned TCO glass substrates or your own custom layout.
